It was important to me that we focused on materiality to help create Navid’s vision for the hotel which is aimed at a relaxed and vibrant clientele: lots of rich velvets, piping and fringe, vintage crystal chandeliers and bevelled mirrors and on top of this we opted for saturated colour themes.
In the dining room, three intensities of the colour blue were chosen to highlight aspects of the architecture. My favourite feature in the room is the bespoke chandeliers in cadets of handblown blue glass by Tyson London which tease out the classical style of the room. They are a whimsical interpretation of a chandelier which stops the restaurant feeling too serious.
