Christmas is my favourite holiday and I love decorating for the season differently each year. My table setting anchors the scheme and I begin my design by looking through my china cupboard and choosing a combination of pieces I haven’t used before.
This year, I was inspired by my grandmother’s crystal collection which as I child I though epitomised glamour. Cut crystal can feel a bit old-fashioned so I wanted to use it in a modern way. I mixed different types of glamorous cut-crystal tableware with natural crystal pieces and earthy elements of foliage.
I thought a lustrous but earthy tablecloth would anchor the pieces so had one made in waxed gold linen by Dominique Kieffer. The china, cutlery and linens are year-round favourites.
